APS DFD Welcomes You!

The 76th Annual Meeting of the Division of Fluid Dynamics will be in-person only at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, 801 Mt Vernon Pl NW, Washington, DC, November 19 – 21, 2023. The Convention Center offers light-filled public space and displays the country’s most extensive public art collection housed outside of a museum.

The DFD Annual Meeting is one of the largest conferences in fluid dynamics, with more than 3,500 attendees expected from around the world. The objective is to promote the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in all areas of fluid dynamics. Students, postdoctoral researchers, university faculty, and researchers across government and industry are encouraged to share the latest developments in the field.

The technical program features oral presentations, posters, and videos highlighting the technical and aesthetic beauty of fluid motion. Minisymposia and Focus Sessions also provide a venue for new developments on critical topics.

There are many outstanding places to hold events in Washington, DC, but regrettably, DFD has outgrown them all as a reception venue serving food and beverages. Fortunately, we found a way to offer both a reception and access to one of the most iconic venues in Washington D.C., the National Air and Space Museum.

Sunday’s Conference Reception will be held at the Convention Center on two levels, with light appetizers and drinks for registrants.**

Monday’s exclusive access to the National Air & Space Museum is for all registrants and their guests.

For both evenings, we encourage you to make dinner reservations at D.C.’s many excellent restaurants well in advance to accommodate your needs.

We look forward to a successful meeting in November and welcoming you to Washington, D.C.

Sincerely,

Ken Kiger, Co-Chair, 76th Annual Meeting of the APS/DFD

Michael Plesniak, Co-Chair, 76th Annual Meeting of the APS/DFD
