Gallery of Fluid Motion (GFM) Information

The annual Gallery of Fluid Motion will be held during the DFD Meeting. The Gallery showcases posters and videos submitted by attendees, highlighting the captivating science and often breathtaking beauty of fluid motion. It serves as a platform to celebrate and appreciate the remarkable fluid dynamics phenomena unveiled by researchers and physicists. Both computational and experimental entries are encouraged. Poster and video entries must not duplicate one another. Outstanding posters and videos submissions are judged by a panel of referees, for their combination of striking visual qualities and scientific interest. The top-ranked video and poster entries will be designated as Milton Van Dyke or Gallery of Fluid Motion Winners and, subsequently get invitation to publish their work in the September 2024 issue of the Physical Review Fluids. All winners will receive a certificate from APS and an Album of Fluid Motion. In addition, Milton Van Dyke Awardees are granted cash prizes at the DFD meeting as part of their recognition. Please note that the previous years’ entries are accessible online at https://gfm.aps.org/.
